It is recommended that all passengers should wear protective gears/equipment at all times during their travel. In the event of additional requirements of PPE, passengers can purchase the same at pharmacy stores located at the airport at various locations as provided below:

CSMIA has taken various precautionary measures for the safety of its personnel and passengers to prevent COVID-19 spread including:

  • Pre-planned seating arrangements in all areas to ensure social distancing
  • Regular sanitization of assets at all touch points;
  • Ensuring strict compliance of social distancing norms by the passengers and staff to minimize direct contact;

What are the guidelines issued for Domestic Vaccinated Passengers who have been vaccinated with both the doses prior to their arrival into the state?

All passengers vaccinated with both the doses of the Covid 19 vaccine and 15 days have lapsed since the administration of seoncd dose of the vaccine and are in possession of the final vaccination certificate issued through the CoWIN portal will be exempted from the mandatory requirement of a negative RT PCR report for entry into the state.

Is face mask mandatory at the airport?

In view of the guidelines published by MoCA order no. 29017/14/2020-DT dated 10.05.2022 and DGCA order no. 4/1/ 2020-IR dated 08.06.2022 there has to be strict compliance of COVID-19 protocols at Airport and Inside the aircraft. Passengers must wear a facemask at all times during the travel.

What are the measures taken to ensure awareness about usage of facemask?

Frequent announcements are made to ensure that passengers are wearing facemask and following COVID protocols.

What are the sanitization measures implemented at the airport?

Frequent sanitization is being carried out across the terminal. In addition, sanitizer dispensers are placed at prominent locations in the terminal.

What are the actions taken in case passengers do not abide to the COVID protocols?

Please note in case the passenger violates COVID protocols or refuses to wear mask even after repeated warnings,

  1. Passenger without a facemask will not be permitted to enter the terminal. CISF personnel deployed at the entrance of the Airport will ensure that no one is allowed to enter the Airport without wearing a mask.
  2. At the airport, he/ she can be fined as per the State Law and he/ she may be handed over to Security Agencies for dealing with the matter as per the applicable law on the subject.
  3. Before departure- He/ she can be deboarded.
  4. During the course of the flight such passenger may be treated as “Unruly Passenger” and procedure in respect of handling such unruly passenger shall be followed by the concerned airline.
What are the COVID protocols to be followed inside the aircraft?

Passengers are advised to wear facemask properly and continue to wear the mask throughout the journey inside the aircraft.

What precautions I can take to prevent theft from my checked-in luggage?

For “Checked-in luggage security advisory”

  1. Keep your valuable objects on your person and don’t store them (however hidden) in your checked bags. Jewelry, cash, cameras and other expensive or important items easily show up on security scanners and should never be packed in your checked-in luggage.
  2. Know what you packed by writing it down on a list (you can add items you buy along the way). Keep the list on your mobile device or simply photograph everything before you pack it all in. This helps you confirm a theft has occurred and makes it easier to report what’s missing.
  3. Lock your bags with luggage locks or locking luggage straps. It will help prevent theft by making your bag look less easy to access.

Do international arrival passengers need to undergo RT-PCR test on international arrival?

As per the Guidelines for International Arrival published by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, 2% of the total flight passengers shall undergo random testing on arrival. Passengers shall be allowed to leave the airport post undergoing the test. Children under 12 years of age are exempted from post-arrival random testing.

Do international arrival passengers need to fill the Air Suvidha self-declaration form?

As per the Guidelines for International Arrival published by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Passengers arriving from certain high risk countries (China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, Thailand and Japan) would be required to submit complete and factual information in self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal (www.newdelhiairport.in) before the scheduled travel, including last 14 days’ travel details. b. Upload negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report on the Air Suvidha portal (The test should have been conducted within 72 hrs prior to undertaking the journey). Note- w.e.f. 1 st January, 2023 (10.00 Hrs IST) till further orders.

  • Should have completed the web-checking before arriving at the airport;
  • Shall have to go through thermal scanning successfully as per the Government guidelines. Any passengers with symptoms of COVID-19 infection will not be allowed to enter the airport terminal building.
  • Should have Aarogya Setu App installed on their mobile phones before reaching the airport. In the absence of the Aarogya Setu app, passengers need to fill the self-declaration form, the form can be acquired from the desk situated near Departure entry Gate no. 01. The International departing passengers from Mumbai are not required to fill the self-reporting form.
  • May be required to provide self-declaration about their health and well-being.
  • Are advised to go through the Govt. guidelines and confirm the flight status with their respective airlines before leaving for the airport.
  • He/she should also download the baggage tag/baggage identification number.
  • Further, passengers with symptoms like cold, cough, fever, difficulty in breathing, body ache etc. are not allowed to enter airport premises and will not be allowed to travel.

All passengers prior to boarding flights for Mumbai shall be advised to pre-register for their RT-PCR test on arriving at Mumbai. Passengers can pre-book their RTPCR / Rapid PCR test at the following weblinks :

Can passengers avail Pranaam services at Mumbai Airport?

Pranaam Services refer to paid meet and assist service at Mumbai Airport. The services are operational and can be availed by all passengers with prior booking on arrival and departure. Is there any resting facility for passengers arriving at airport by road from other cities much early than their flight departure?

Passengers arriving in Mumbai much before the flight departure time should make necessary arrangements for rest/hotel stay as may be convenient. In addition to hotels available near airport, such passengers may choose to book a stay with Niranta Transit Hotel located inside Terminal 2. How early one should arrive at airport for a departure flight?

We request you to please contact your respective airlines in order to comply with any additional pre boarding requirements.

Is there any change in airport entry/check-in process?

In order to ensure passenger safety various measure have been taken at the airport. However, there is no major change in the process. Passengers to enter from departure entry gate designated to their airline. It may please be noted that the passenger(s):

  • Should have completed the web-checking before arriving at the airport;
  • Shall have to go through thermal scanning successfully as per the Government guidelines. Any passengers with symptoms of COVID-19 infection will not be allowed to enter the airport terminal building.
  • Should have Aarogya Setu App installed on their mobile phones before reaching the airport. In the absence of the Aarogya Setu app, passengers need to fill the self-declaration form, the form can be acquired from the desk situated near Departure entry Gate no. 01
  • May be required to provide self-declaration about their health and well-being.
  • Are advised to go through the Govt. guidelines and confirm the flight status with their respective airlines before leaving for the airport.
  • He/she should also download the baggage tag/baggage identification number.
  • Further, passengers with symptoms like cold, cough, fever, difficulty in breathing, body ache etc. are not allowed to enter airport premises and will not be allowed to travel.

Can a passenger purchase protective gear/equipment commonly known as personal protective equipment (ppe) such as suitable face mask, face shield and goggles, hand gloves etc. For COVID-19 precautions at airport?

It is recommended that all passengers should wear protective gears/equipment at all times during their travel. In the event of additional requirements of PPE, passengers can purchase the same at pharmacy stores located at the airport at various locations as provided below:

What are the hygiene protocol maintained at airport?

CSMIA has taken various precautionary measures for the safety of its personnel and passengers to prevent COVID-19 spread including:

  • Availability of hand sanitizers at all touch points;
  • Pre-planned seating arrangements in all areas to ensure social distancing
  • Regular sanitization of assets at all touch points;
  • Ensuring strict compliance of social distancing norms by the passengers and staff to minimize direct contact;
  • Pre-planned seating arrangements in all areas to ensure social distancing
  • Arrangement for proper disposing of used masks, face shields, gloves and PPEs etc.; and
  • Sufficient availability of face masks, gloves & hand sanitizers at the pharmacy outlets at the airport.
  • Sanitization mats available at the departure entry gates for sanitization of shoes.
Is there a COVID-19 testing facility available at the Mumbai Airport for All Departing Passengers?

Yes, there is a Covid-19 (RT-PCR) testing facility available for All Departing Passengers the testing facility is opposite to Departure Gate 7 (T2). Below are the details:

  • Test results will take up to 8-10 hours for passengers taking the test opposite to Departure Gate 7 (T2)
  • Report will be sent via email
  • Valid ID proof such as Aadhar Card and Passport is a must
  • Amount charged for the test is Rs. 500 (as per the rate fixed by the government)
  • Payment via cash and digital mode available
  • Passengers who test negative will be allowed to continue their journey
  • Rapid RT-PCR test is available at a charge of Rs. 1975 per test and the results are provided in 1-2 hours

Yes, as on today Covid testing facility is available in kerbside of T2. Covid testing facility in international arrival area will be activated on 24th Dec 2022 as per the Govt of India Guidelines dated 22nd Dec 2022.
